The Venue Training Institute exists to help our church equips our people to make disciples and live for the glory of God. We want to be a church that “equips the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ until we all attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood. (Eph. 4:12-13) The church is meant to be a movement of the gospel that is multiplying disciples and new churches. At the Venue, we pray towards the goal of fully equipped and matured believers through deeper understanding and belief in the gospel. We believe God will answer the prayer of raising up new leaders, new pastors, new church planters, and new missionaries who will take the gospel to the ends of the earth. Through the Venue Training Institute, we want to offer church-based theological education that is gospel-saturated, theologically rich, yet practical and communal in nature.
How does it work?
The courses offered through the institute all have both online portions and collaborative learning times. The online portion of the classes walk you through the content of the course with articles, reading assignments, videos, and various short assignments. This portion is completed individually on your own time. The collaborative learning environments are times of communal learning. They are not teaching times, but rather facilitator-led times of discussion and learning with others who are also participating in the course. The collaborative learning times are crucial to the learning experience and are therefore considered important to not miss. We will offer two levels of courses, each with different levels of commitment and format:
Level 1: These courses are considered beginning and intermediate, though they are very precise and rich. These classes are 30 days in length, with a one-time (4 hour) collaborative learning time. You can expect to spend about 3-4 individual hours a week completing these courses. These courses cost $20.
Level 2: These courses are in-depth seminary level. They require not only the online portion, but also required reading textbooks to be purchased and used throughout the course. These classes are 3 months in length, with twice-monthly (2 hour) collaborative learning times. You can expect to spend about 6-8 individual hours weekly in completing these courses. The courses range in cost from around $80-$100.
